Caliber : 6,5x65R RWS
Gorgeous falling block rifle system Heeren built by ZIEGENHAHN & Sohn in Zella-Mehlis, Thuringia, at the beginning of the XXI century.
The 26" full octagonal barrel, proofed in Suhl, is chambered for the flat shooting 6.5x65R RWS cartridge. Its integral machined rib carries the bases of a quick detachable pivoting scope mount and a slanted fixed rear sight regulated on a silver bead set in the front sight ramp drawn from the rib.
The action is a compact Outschar Heeren system with classic manual cocking/de-cocking three-position mechanism combining safety, single stage trigger and set hair trigger.
W. WOLF has fully engraved the receiver and all the trimmings of the rifle in the traditional Suhler style, with foliaged scrolls on mated background, the whole finished in best quality bone and charcoal color case hardening.
The 14¼" LOP stock, with engraved grip cap, has been made of a superb fine-grained walnut burr. The forearm of the same wood quality is affixed to the barrel by a screw embedded in a scalloped plate, engraved and finished in the same style.
A SWAROVSKI PVi 3-12x50 4Ai scope with integral rail is fitted on an ERA-Matic G9 one-piece quick detachable swivel mount permitting to take advantage of the rifle accuracy and 6,5x65R RWS performances.
The weight of that extremely well made rifle is a mere 6lb 1oz and 7lb 8oz scoped.
