Mod. 1886 50-110 Express
Category : C
Caliber : 50-110 Exp.
A rarely seen Winchester 1886 50-100 Express rifle, made circa 1901 and restored in the last years.
The heavy 26″ round barrel is typical of the Express model as is the steel shotgun buttplate.
The complete action was engraved in Nimschke style scrolls with the left side depicting the “Dead man’s hand”, the four cards hold by Wild Bill Hickok when he was shot in the back by Jack Mc Call in Deadwood, the 2nd of August, 1876.
The whole is finished in traditional bone color case hardening with the barrel and buttplate blued.
That rifle functions without trouble and can be used; even if the inside of the barrel is not up to the outside.
It weights 8 lbs 4 oz, an heaviness that helps to control the biggest caliber for witch the 1886 was ever chambered.
