Category : C

Caliber : 9,3x62

We built this 9.3x62 rifle on an Original MAUSER, Oberndorf commercial action fitted with a 24½" Lothar Walther match grade barrel profiled to include an extended rear sight mount, front swivel and front sight mount, all fitted on concealed rings.

For this 98' system we have made a special double-pivot single stage trigger based on the rare vintage Mauser Flintenmäßiger Abzug option. In addition, the trigger bow has been specially shaped to fit at the rear of the trigger guard of the specially machined five-round magazine with straddle floorplate.

The iron sight line features a three-leaf express sight with gold lined wide V blades, a very rare LYMAN mod.35 diopter integrated on the bolt stop, and an interchangeable ivory-faced front sight with JEFFERY type folding away protector.

The classic stock, optimized for offhand shooting, is made from a very fine blank of French walnut. A trapped grip cap and a curved steel buttplate complete the fittings, along with the recoil block.

These parts have been superbly engraved by Florent VIALE, before being color case-hardened in the traditional bone and charcoal manner. All other metal parts are soft rust blued, with the exception of the extractor blade and bolt stop, finished in nitre blue.

This traditional rifle, intended for driving hunt fast shooting or plains game chasing, is a complex piece of work that required a great deal of time and patience.

We will no longer be making this kind of rifle, leaving it its unique character.
