Category : C
Caliber : .500 Jeffery
A luxurious dangerous game rifle made on a Gottfried Prechtl magnum Mauser action.
The solid wall receiver has been modified to rear single flat top and optimized for the .500 Jeffery cartridge, the most powerful English safari caliber, British version of the 12,7x70 Schüler introduced circa 1920.
The weapon is built with a 25" Heym forged steel barrel carrying a large V single leaf express rear sight, inlaid with a contrasting gold triangle, fitted on a banded base. The front bead, with combined moon-sight and folding protector, brazed on a broad base at the front of the tube, provides a very fast instinctive and comfortable aim.
To increase the capacity of the magazine we have machined a deeper floorplate different from original Prechtl and fitted with reinforced locking device to prevent opening under recoil.
The single stage trigger is constructed ??on a modified ERA system with a hand made new trigger that position it at the rear of the magnum trigger guard.
The stock, made of well figured dense French walnut, adapts the classic English style to the size of the weapon. Its thickness, increased by an elegant oval beaded cheekpiece, integrate two mercury recoil absorbers and the rounded forend adopts a pinched profile for better gripping.
The straight comb, the elongated grip, the leather covered Silver's buttplate and the incorporated shock absorbers make shooting this powerful cartridge a pleasant experiment and thanks to the smooth feeding, quick second shot come easily.
The 14¾" LOP stock bears an engraved silver oval and an incrusted swivel base while the grip is capped in engraved steel. The patiently pores filled walnut is satin oil finished.
To meet customer requirements, the entire mechanism has been engraved to the Rhino glory in a mix of deeply cut scrolls, light chiseling and gold inlays. The scrolls remind the thorny African with berries in gold of different colors while on the magazine plate, an egret headlights the pachyderm charge.
All parts are treated in hardwearing French grey except the finely rust blued barrel, and, of course, all the markings are hand engraved.
This 10lbs. 15oz. massive weapon, first ordered by a demanding connoisseur, is in near new condition and supports our complete warranty.
That perfectly regulated and sighted rifle delivers an astonishing accuracy, and is delivered with new cartridges boxes.
