Magnum Mauser Big Game TD Rifle
RIGBY & C° by R. WHARTON
Category : 5ème §2
Caliber : .375 H&H Magnum
Rigby built that rifle before WW1 as a 350-400 Nitro Express on a rare first type stepped ring Oberndorf Mauser magnum action with slanted magazine.
At a latter date they took apart the barrel for re-boring, rifling and chambering it for the all time famed .375 H&H Magnum Rimless, and indeed the rifle bears all London proper proof stamps.
In the nineties Ronald Wharton (from Rigby) rebuild the rifle to a more modern standard, fitting a new three positions side safety shroud, a modern trigger and an H&H style scope mount while converting it to “detachable stock” take down.
The 24″ barrel sports a two gold lined leaves express rear sight on a short quarter rib and the original front sight block and front swivel ring were preserved.
The newly made, well-figured walnut, 13¾” LOP stock retains the original trapped grip cap and is finished by a nice leather covered pad.
The rifle is fitted with a KHALES Helia C 2,5-10×50 R.4 scope in the English quick detachable low side mount.
That weapon remains an excellent and versatile African game rifle but it can also be the foundation of a superb bespoke rifle, all the basis being present and well preserved.
Our price take account of that opportunity we shall be glad to discuss about the making of a top notch A-Safari rifle using that barreled action.
The rifle weights 8.lbs 2.oz net & 9.lbs 11.oz scoped.
Price (€) : 7.700
