MODEL 1917 D.A
SMITH & WESSON
Handguns
Category : B
Caliber : .45ACP / .45 Auto Rim
A very interesting Smith & Wesson Model 1917 D.A. revolver, manufactured at the Springfield factory in December 1917.
This is one of the very first examples developed by Smith & Wesson based on their 1908 First Model Hand Ejector.
This revolver is built on the robust type N frame in five-screw configuration.
Chambered for the .45 ACP, which it fires using quick-loading clips, it can also use the .45 Auto Rim cartridge (the rimmed version of the .45 ACP), whose brass are still produced by Remington and Starline.
This Model 1917 D.A, sporting all original markings, is in perfect working condition and has undergone no alterations except for the grips that have been replaced with model 1937 ones.
The mechanical condition is sound, with no play, a superbly preserved 5½" barrel, and an excellent remarkably well finished 1908 type double action.
This model 1917 D.A. S&W was imported and proof-tested in the UK in November 1987.
The revolver comes with a set of clips and is covered by our full warranty.
