1903 Stutzen
MANNLICHER-SCHÖNAUER
Rifles
Category : C
Caliber : 6,5x57
Rare 1903 stutzen, manufactured circa 1940 during the Anschluß that saw Austria occupied by German troops and the STEYR factory at the hands of the occupier.
As a result, the weapon carries the special markings common to the very small number of civilian rifles produced during that period.
The receiver front ring is marked "Made in Germany" and "Kal. 6,5 Norm", while the receiver left side wall bears only "Waffenfabrik Steyr".
This rifle has been very carefully modified for the 6.5x57 Mauser cartridge and its operation and accuracy don't suffer any criticism.
The 18" barrel retains a perfect bore and its original sights.
The classic stutzen 14½” LOP stock is made from fine walnut, perfectly checkered at the grip and forend, and it is finished with the original trapped steel buttplate, while the grip cap is a delicate ebony kaisergriff set with a monogrammed silver oval.
An excellent ZEISS Diatal Z 4x32 R4A scope is fitted on a hand detachable claw mount, the front base welded to the barrel rear.
The rifle weighs only 6lbs 7oz and 7lbs 6oz scoped.
Its state of conservation and accuracy make it a perfect choice for the sportsman who wish to hunt with a "vintage" rifle of the highest quality.
Indeed, it carries our unconditional guarantee.
