A surprising and very rare Best Quality “Detachable Stock” long barrelled Mauser rifle, fitted with a “HiKro” 27½” barrel, made circa 1956.
That perfect bore barrel was converted to the .240 Weatherby Magnum and delivers outstanding accuracy. It is fitted with a quarter rib showing a three gold lined leaves express sight parade and the traditional H&H front sight with fold away protector. Sight are regulated for 150/250/350 yards.
The Oberndorf style magazine with swing open floor plate holding five cartridges is mounted with a large coin front screw for easy stock take apart.
The action has be given an original H&H extra low quick detachable side mount for a German made ZEISS 3-9x36 C.T* scope. A special bolt knob, a three position side swing safety with bolting lever and a period Canjar single stage trigger complete the blue printed mechanism.
All the parts are deep blue-black slow rust finished except the fitting left nicely color case hardened.
Nice French walnut stock of “de Luxe” shape with oval cheek piece and 14¼” LOP, fitted with color hardened engraved trapped grip cap and recoil blocks.
That rifle has been the subject of a top quality and scrupulous restoration and is presented in an as new condition.
