Mauser type B - 8x60S
MAUSER ORIGINAL OBERNDORF
Rifles
Category : C
Caliber : 8x60S
A superb Original Mauser hunting rifle made at Oberndorf in 1931 on a 98' commercial action fitted with a German double set triggers and a key secured opening magazine floor plate.
All parts of the rifle port the same serial number and the slightly thicker than normal round 24" barrel is chambered for the 8x60 cartridge.
The barrel bears a .321" bore, a dimension that falls between .318" and .323" and it shoots as well the 88 and "S" bullets.
It was a common practice at Oberndorf in the thirties where all 8x60 sporting rifles got the throat for the S bullets, so that the S-type cartridges may be used.
With its perfect shinny bore, that rifle is incredibly accurate and shots the modern RWS load in a cloverleaf all the day!
The 14½" L.O.P slim stock is made from well-figured French walnut, with steel capped checkered grip and schnabel forend, the butt being finished with a Mauser monogrammed original plate.
That original rifle has been extremely well cared and it retains the greatest part of the original Oberndorf finish.
That Mauser weights 7.lbs 12.oz, it functions flawlessly, shots very accurately and bears our entire guarantee.
We owe to the true to notice that finding such a well-preserved Original Mauser sporter has become a rare opportunity.
