Mod.1422 Sporter
ANSCHUTZ
Rifles
Category : C
Caliber : .22lr
High quality rimfire repeating sporter manufactured by JG ANSCHÜTZ GmbH, Waffenfabrik Ulm/Donnau, in Germany in 1969.
This 1422 model uses the legendary 54 Match action that enabled the manufacturer to monopolize gold medals in the Olympic games.
On this sample, the 22½" barrel is assembled to the 54 Match repeater action with removable five shots magazine.
A German double set trigger ensures a very light let off in order to benefit from the Anschütz barrel accuracy
The system retains also the flag safety blocking the percussion and the separate bolt stop on the left side.
The 14½" LOP Monte Carlo stock, with integrated recoil block, is made of nicely figured European walnut.
Its shape is typical of the end of the sixties productions with its "roll over" comb and skip a line checkering but it remains extremely comfortable to shoot and provides excellent support.
The ZEISS Diatal Z R.4 scope with rail is fitted to the receiver on a solid AKAH (Albrecht Kind) steel mount.
This rifle Mod. 1422 is one of the first manufactured mainly for export to the USA where the ANSCHÜTZ was then distributed by SAVAGE, Westfield, Massachusetts.
Despite some handling marks and some light blemishes, that rifle is in very good condition and shoot very accurately and its scope, close to new, is perfectly sighted at 50m.
It weighs 6lb 12oz and 7lb 11oz scoped.
