The forend, at the level of the front checkering, displays a curious, almost invisible, darker wood inlay of which no one knows the function.
The 9x56MS cartridge, still commercially loaded, delivers the performance of the .358 Winchester. It was developed by the Austrian firm Roth for Österreichischen Waffenfabrik-Gesellschaft Steyr and has the peculiarity of being interchangeable with the 9x57 Mauser.
This Mannlicher-Schönauer is presented in its full-length leather box with William FORD label.
It weighs only 6lbs-7oz and 7lbs-6oz with the Kahles scope fitted.
The state of conservation of the whole is good, with a perfect clean bore and trouble-free operation.
