Rifles
Category : D
Caliber : .256 Mannlicher - 6,5x53R
Beautiful stalking rifle built by John DICKSON & Son in Edinburgh on a Mannlicher model 1892 action produced by Waffenfabrik-Gesellschaft in Steyr in 1893.
This system is the eldest of the famous Schönauer and uses an identical action associated with a single column magazine loaded with five cartridges clips.
The slender 27" barrel is chambered for the .256 Mannlicher or 6.5x53R, rimmed version of the 6.5x54 M-S which it shares performance.
The signed "John DICKSON & Son, 63 Princes Street, Eddinburgh" barrel sports the typical Scottish stalking rifles sights of the period with platinum lined three leaves express rear sight and fine caterpillar bead on abbreviated support soldered back of the mouth.
The elegant stock, in beautiful English walnut, displays a 14¼" LOP measured on steel buttplate and a Prince of Wales round grip.
This untouched rifle, in original good state of conservation, weighs 7lb 9oz.
Its operation is very smooth and it comes with a decade replacement clips and a batch of modern cartridges with reloadable cases.
