Category : C
Caliber : 7x65R Brenneke
Nice over under ejector double rifle made circa 1972 by Benedict WINKLER in Ferlach, Austria.
The 26" chopper lump Böhler "Rasant" steel barrels are chambered for the excellent and versatile 7x65R Brenneke.
The forged steel narrow action with Kersten-Greener upper cross bar and double bolt lugs at the barrels uses a modified Anson & Deeley system fitted with high sears and automatic safety. The selective ejectors are of H&H pattern while the front trigger combines a push stecher for the first shot.
The engraving is a traditional ornament of Germanic scrolls on fine lined background framing two hunting vignettes, a wild boar on the right and a stag on the left side, the whole finished in gray hardening.
The 14½'" LOP stock is made of oil finished figured French with hump back comb and traditional Bavarian triple beaded cheekpiece while the forend, made of the same blank, is of the three parts pattern.
A Karl KAHLES Wien "Helia Super" 2,3-7x36 R1 scope, fitted on a traditional claw mount, completes the iron sights provided by the fixed standard rear set on a short express rib and regulated on the small bead supported by an elegant elongated ramp.
The weapon was sold to its first owner by FIESINGER in Altkirch. Ordered in 1972, it was delivered on July 5, 1974.
This fine rifle has been used sparingly and has been very carefully maintained. It is in almost new condition and still bears traces of storage grease.
Unscoped the rifle weighs 7lbs. 15 oz. and 8lbs. 13 oz. with the Kahles on.
