Remarkable Mauser rifle manufactured in 1994 by JUCH-GRUN in Ferlach [Jagdwaffen Juch Grund Inh] on a DWM 1909 action with a 26" Böhler "Super Blitz" barrel chambered for the classic .300 Winchester Magnum.

The barrel has an octagonal profile with fully machined sight rib.

It is assembled on a thoroughly reworked 98' system, fitted with a shotgun type sliding safety at the stock neck and an excellent German double set trigger with lightened 12oz let-off weight.

All parts are traditionally engraved in the traditional Austrian style with vignettes on the magazine plate. The entire system is treated in French grey carbonitriding, the barrel and fittings being finished in a traditional soft rust bluing. The classic stock with a slightly curved comb and traditional Bavarian triple beaded cheekpiece is crafted from beautiful, superbly grained, French walnut. Its length of pull reads 15" measured on the original ventilated soft butt pad while the fore-end ends in an elegant schnabel. The polished ebony capped Kaisergriff grip, like the forearm, features remarkably executed fish-scale checkering bordered with oak leaves.

This rifle is equipped with a nice ZEISS Diavari ZM 2.5-10x48 T* scope with a No. 1 reticle on perfect Ferlacher art claw mount.

The metallic line of sight is composed of a slanted rear sight regulated on a fine silve bead set on the ramp machined at the barrel muzzle.

Both function and accuracy are perfect, with particularly smooth handling and reliable feeding, the rifle being optimized for 180-grain loads.

The magazine holds three cartridges, increasing the capacity to four shots.

This Juch-Grund Mauser weighs a comfortable 8lbs-4oz and 9lbs-11oz scoped.

This rifle is particularly suited to shooting big stag during the rutting season or large keilers wild boars from a tree stand, although it remains a formidable tool for long-range shooting of heavy mountain ungulates.
