MAUSER "African Modell" - Custom

MAUSER ORIGINAL OBERNDORF

Rifles

Category : C

Caliber : 30-06 GVT

This Original MAUSER "African Modell" left the Oberndorf Waffenfabrik in 1934 before being re-barreled in Sweden with a 26" Bofors steel barrel chambered for the .30-06 Springfield cartridge.

The rifle retains its original 14½" LOP stock with the extended forend typical of this version, as well as the horn buttplate monogrammed with the Mauser logo.

The action has undergone no modifications other than a lowered bolt handle and the addition of a quarter-turn FN type safety.

The handsome claw mount supports a PECAR Berlin 1.5-4x scope with a n° 2 reticle fitted on two half-rings welded to its steel tub.

Highly accurate and benefiting from the extreme reliability of the commercial 98' system, this MAUSER can be used as is for continental hunting or as the basis for a superb vintage rifle.

Without its scope, the rifle weighs 8lbs 10oz and 9lbs 7oz when glassed.
