Rifles
Category : C
Caliber : .22lr
A superb and rare single shot .22lr Walther "Meisterbüchse Olympia" (Olympic Championship Rifle) made by Carl Walther Waffenfabrik in Zella-Melhis, German Thuringia in the thirties.
The "Meisterbüchse" was the top of the line rimfire rifle offered by Walther before World War II.
It was introduced circa 1934-1935 and ceased production in 1940.
The full-size receiver, with adjustable trigger and flag catch safety, is assembled to a heavy 7/8" diameter, 26" long, tapered barrel, fitted with a sliding micrometer rear sight and interchangeable match bead on ramp.
The semi orthopedic "Olympiaschafte" 14"¼ LOP French walnut stock displays large coverage, perfectly executed, checkering and bears numerous sling eyelets.
The rifle is fitted with an original Walther machined steel diopter sliding on the 11mm rail running on the receiver top.
Even if it bears some slight traces of manipulation, this fine Walther match rifle is in a remarkable, near new, state of preservation, retaining almost all factory finish without any alteration.
That 8lb 9oz rimfire rifle shoots perfectly and delivers an outstanding accuracy.
