Caliber : .375 H&H Magnum
A fine sample of a 1961 vintage pre-64 Mod.70 .375 H&H "Express Rifle".
That model is fitted with a perfect bore n°1 medium 25" chrome molybdenum steel barrel that sports a "Rollover Express Sight" and, under sliding protector, a n°37 3/32" gold bead Lyman front sight on short ramp.
The action bears a period El Paso made Weaver K 2.5 60C on original Redfield JR base with four screws rings.
The 13½" LOP stock, without cheek piece, is made from reddish American walnut and retains its factory solid red rubber butt pad and flawless original checkering, while the barrel, action and fittings are finished in hot salt bluing, the receiver and bolt handle being mate finished.
The rifle has undergone a complete overhaul with add of an indiscernible full bedding.
The Winchester pre-64 "Express Rifle" represents the epitome of the professional choice; allying the best features of the proven Mauser 98' controlled feeding system to the fluidity and balance of the modern American big game rifle.
With its five shots capacity, it's one of the best all around safari rifle.
The rifle alone weights 9lb-3oz while scoped it's 9lb-13oz.
